The Era of Electric Mobility is Dawning in Ulm. FROGRESS to Back Up the Related Technology
Ulm, 29th June 2011 - The city of Ulm, as the first city in the whole of Europe, is going to implement an integral infrastructure for electric mobility. FROGRESS is involved in the project as a capital investor, providing a solid financial foundation for e-mobility pioneer FROSYS. Thus it was possible within a very short period of time to provide the central system technology – the brain – for the smart charging concept of the electric car sharing project covering the whole urban area of the city of Ulm.
Set up with the municipal utilities of the cities of Ulm / Neu Ulm, the system ensures the energy supply of the electric charging stations in line with the actual demand due to a smart monitoring of charging processes. The system provides for interfaces at the charging stations for invoicing energy use, for instance via SMS or customer account cards. All in all, the car2go users’ comfort is paramount – they may even use their SWU SchwabenCard as a means of access. On the FROSYS server all required customer data and charging information are stored and managed. Through a web portal customers may thus retrieve the charging status of their vehicle, or using a smart phone find and reserve the nearest available charging station.
FROGRESS is a joint venture between the Swiss asset management provider SAM AG and FG Capital, the financial experts with FG.de.
